Privacy Policy

Plain language about what this site collects, why, and who else is involved. Last updated September 10, 2026.

This site is operated by Daniel Schaffer Connects LLC, trading as Fully Seen and Schaffer Magic, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. This policy explains what happens to information when you visit schaffermagic.com, contact me, or book an event.

The short version: I collect what I need to answer your enquiry and run an event well. I do not sell your information, and I do not share it with anyone who is not helping me deliver the service you asked for.

Information you give me

When you submit the enquiry form, I collect what you type into it. That typically includes your name, email address, phone number, organisation, event date, location, audience size and whatever you tell me about the event. The form is hosted by Zoho Forms and the submission lands in my Zoho CRM.

If you email or call me, I keep that correspondence so I can follow up properly. If you use the chat widget, the conversation is recorded so I can pick the thread back up later.

If you become a client, I also handle contract and payment details. Payments are processed by my invoicing provider, and I do not store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically

Like nearly every website, this one records basic technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, and the site or search that sent you. This is standard server and security logging.

I use a visitor identification service (Apollo) across this site. It matches a visitor's IP address against a business database to estimate which organisation is visiting, so that I can follow up with companies that showed interest but did not get in touch. It is aimed at organisations rather than individuals, and it does not tell me who you personally are. If you would rather not be included, an ad blocker or a VPN will prevent it, and the site works normally either way.

Cookies and similar technologies

The chat widget sets cookies so a conversation survives a page refresh. Embedded video from Vimeo may set its own cookies when you play a video. This site does not run advertising or cross-site retargeting pixels.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Nothing here breaks if you do, apart from the chat remembering you.

Third-party services

These providers process data on my behalf or as part of features on this site. Each has its own privacy policy:

How I use the information

To reply to your enquiry, quote a date and answer questions.

To plan and deliver an event you have booked, including tailoring content to your organisation.

To follow up with organisations that visited the site but did not make contact.

To send invoices and keep the records a business is required to keep.

To understand which pages and cities generate enquiries, so I know what is worth writing more about.

To send occasional updates, but only if you asked for them. Every one carries an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.

What I do not do

I do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. I do not share client lists with other performers or agencies. I do not use your information to build profiles for advertising.

Confidentiality about your event

Most of my clients are named nowhere on this site, and that is deliberate. Many events are covered by confidentiality agreements, and even where they are not, I treat the fact that you hired me as yours to disclose rather than mine.

I will not name your organisation, quote you, or use photographs or video from your event in marketing unless you have given permission. If you gave permission and later change your mind, tell me and I will remove it.

How long I keep things

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept while there is a realistic chance of working together, and reviewed periodically after that. Client records, contracts and invoices are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, currently seven years. Chat transcripts and correspondence are kept for as long as they are useful for continuity.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask me to delete it. Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK and California, you may have formal rights to access, correction, deletion, portability and to object to certain processing. I apply these on request regardless of where you live, subject to records I am legally required to retain.

To make a request, email [email protected]. I will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

This site does not respond to Do Not Track browser signals, because there is still no agreed standard for what that should mean.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiry and client data lives in Zoho behind access controls and multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure and I will not pretend otherwise, but I keep the number of places your information sits deliberately small.

Children

This site is aimed at people booking corporate events and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. I do perform at school and family events, and where an event involves minors, any photography or recording is handled by the organisation running it under their own consent process.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will change and the revised version will be posted here.
